Svetlana Pozharskaya

Moscow. More than 25 years she was a lead expert in the art photography department at the State Russian House of Public Art. She was a specialist of the Russian Union of Art Photographers and curated its activities for children and youth in 1998–2014. Pozharskaya curated many exhibition projects. She was a jury member, participant and prize holder of international and national photo exhibitions, festivals and contests. As a photographer, she has presented 30 solo exhibitions in Russia and abroad. Her work is held in the collections of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow; the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg; the Museum of the Russian Photography in Kolomna, Moscow region; the Museum of Moscow; the Union of Lithuanian Art Photographers and the Russian Union of Art Photographers as well as in private collections in Russia and other countries.

She has published many articles on photography. She is the author of four books. Pozharskaya taught at the Russian State University for the Humanities, the Academy of Classic Photography and the School of Journalism “Izvestia”, as well as conducted master classes at the School of Contemporary Photography Photoplay, New York Institute of Photography (all in Moscow), etc. She is an honored member of the Russian Union of Art Photographers, a member of the Union of Journalists of Russia and holds a status of an honored worker of culture of the Russian Federation.
